The little boy, Jonathan Lipinski? (Now THAT is sad, that I know his NAME! Whoaaa...) Eh. He was cute. But I don't like spikey hair. On anyone. Of any age.

The cutest little boy ever is in Cheaper by the Dozen--Mark. The redheaded kid with glasses and freckles. I just cried everytime he was onscreen, he was so pitiful.

I bet I would hate him when he got past the, "it's cute to wear a swampy hat" stage.

The opening line "Let us all hope that we are preceded in this world by a love story." (I know I'm missing a few words, but that's roughly what it was) was adorable.

Overall, very beautifully filmed, very 'independent film'-looking. I wouldn't buy it. But I was glad I saw it.

.....okay, leave it to me then I guess to rant and rave. It was SO simple, but that's what made it so beautiful! Every shot of an open filed made me want SUMMER! I just want to be able to go outside without freezing to death! The main gal was so cute too, she had all these quirky little expressions to let you know what she was really thinking.

The guy....hmm....the guy probably would have made it into our "top ten" for bad male attributes, everything was just WRONG. Hair from hell, droopy eyes, pitchy voice, I'm pretty sure short, and about as much personality as a brick.

Yes, but I think that was the point. He was just SO introverted. They were cute together. A movie about just him would have been a nightmare.

Definitely agree about the summer thing.

What would you DO if you had to be a mail-order bride?

Quoting an earlier comment, "do my best to NEVER BE a mail order bride". But if by some nightmare I did?....all i can think is that it would just be the never ending awkward moment. Aka, my own personal hell.

Then there's the idea that the guy you end up with would be horrific. Fat, cruel, or worse, uber-affectionate-ick. That just sounds like such an invasion of personal space. My plan would be to split the second I get into the country.

Really, what kind of dude would order a mail-order bride? Uh, super lonely hick famer perverts.

I would be so hitchhiking out of there. Get on one of those better-faster-whatever tractors.

I think you're right though, if the dude has to ORDER a bride, as in, set in stone before they see eachother, how good our your chances that he isn't gonna be a butt-ugly disgusting littel cretan? ha! Here's me.

They did back in the day, when it was just a bunch of guys in mining towns. If you were halfway decent and didn't go to brothels or something, I guess you would either stay eternally single or get out the catolog..
